I completed the scheduled maintenance agreement cooling tune up on a Carrier heat pump. I visually inspected the unit. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. Completed combustion analysis. I inspected the evaporator coil. I checked the temperature difference across the coil. Checked voltage and amps. Inspected heat pump. Checked refrigerant charge, voltages and amps. I rinsed the condenser coils with water. Cycled and monitored systems. All operating normally at this time.
Provided a free in home estimate for Carrier "Infinity Series" Variable Speed 3 Ton Electric Furnace / Fan, and Carrier "Infinity Series" 18 SEER Variable-Speed 4 Ton Heat Pump.
Diagnostic Service Call. Service work performed: customer stated outdoor heat pump is not cooling. Turned unit on at stat both compressor and fan came on checked pressures and the unit was almost completely empty of r-22 refrigerant. ohmd compressor and confirmed that the compressor is bad. The current compressor is not the original one with this system. customer is attempting to get approval from his insurance company on repairs or replacement.
Upon arrival, found furnace to be flashing error code 31. Pressure switch open. Pulled pressure switch hose to test for clogs, no clogs found. Filter was found to be dirty. Replaced.Blower capacitor was reading 7.9/10 (bad Replaced with cap reading 10.23/10 (good). Pulled/cleaned flame sensor, now reading 4.4ma (good). Combustion analysis had readings we would expect in a unit this old. Customer had coupon for free diagnostic call with paid repair, price of call waived. Upon departure unit is operating as expected.
